7/14/08-We just had The Collins' Family Reunion here in Denver. It was a lot of fun getting to see all Jay's cousins and family, especially the ones from Texas that he doesn't get to see a lot. Jay even said he had so much fun, that now he's tired of fun! Kalea really enjoyed playing with all her cousins too. There are quite a few around her age, and she had a blast! We had activities all weekend. All us "young" cousins went out on Thursday night, then there was the Luau at Cherry Creek Reservoir with authentic Hula Dancers on Friday, next was the guy cousin's basketball game, Black Arts Festival and fish fry on Saturday, and finally the Reunion Dinner/Slideshow on Sunday. Now you can see what Jay means!
6/5/08-We finally are staying at our new house. There are still a few things to do, but we actually slept there for the first time last night! Yea!! I will update with new pics shortly.
4/21/08-We are currently in the process of buying a townhome here in Denver. Right now, we are set to close begining of May.
Kalea's Recent News
7/14/08-As I mentioned, Kalea loved getting to know all her cousins a little better this weekend, even Si-ee, who kept hitting her despite the fact that he's only 2 1/2! Kalea's mind and vocabulary are growing like crazy, you never know what is going to come out of her mouth. This weekend, when I woke her up from her nap, she said seriously, "Be careful with me cause I'm a little bit tired." Then today, on the way to work, she pointed to a "NO PARKING" sign and said, "There's my letter! The letter K!" It was priceless!
6/6/08-Kalea stayed an extra week in Utah after Jonathan's graduation. She is still there having fun with her grandparents, aunts, uncle, and cousin. I'm sure she misses her parents terribly--ya right! I know she has been very busy going to Treehouse muesem, bowling, Build-A-Bear, shopping, getting her nails done--you know the usual little girl stuff. We are starting to miss her here in Denver, especially her Grandma Joyce, who has gotten used to her little follower and singing partner. Kalea is done with her 3 year old preschool and will spend the summer getting ready for her all-day 4 year old school that she will begin in August. She is very excited, and it will be at the same school that her Grandma Joyce works at so it will be lots of fun!
4/21/08-Kalea is going to preschool M/W/F. Currently she is learning to write her name and numbers. She really enjoys using scissors. Her teacher, Ms. Pat, agrees. She told me everytime she gives Kalea a paper to do, if she doesn't watch her she will cut it up into pieces. Kalea also enjoys making up her own song lyrics about any and everything. The other day in the car she began singing about an "emerging flower."
Xavier's Recent News
7/14/08-Oh my goodness! This little boy steals the show everywhere we go. He was a hit at the reunion. Jay's aunts' said they were going to kidnap him and take him back to Texas with them! Everyone couldn't believe what beautiful coloring he has and how big he is! Poor little guy did so good, too with all the excitement. He was constipated and cutting his first tooth this weekend, but you would have never known! He was so good. He really likes to say, "Huh?" to everything you say now. It's so funny. He trys to get the attention of whoever's talking by going, "Huh, huh?" Oh and an update on his size...he's officially 21 lb 13 oz as of Friday!!
6/6/08-Xavier is getting cuter everyday! He is definitely still "Golden." I would describe him as a California Beach Bum Baby. He has the most beautiful skin that looks like he's been laying out on the beach all day. I actually had someone at the airport ask me, "Is he really just really tan?" Plus, his hair is bleach blonde so it adds to the surfer look. He is now in size 18 month clothes! It's crazy, even some that size are a little snug. He loves making noise with his mouth and hands. He likes to say "ya" so I taught him how to say HI-yah. He also enjoys banging on things and has to constantly have something in his hand to play with and chew on. He does a clapping motion, although I can't get him to do it on demand yet. He also loves eating little disolvable baby cereal puffs. I think they feel good on his gums, which a tooth is about to pop through any day now.
4/22/07-Xavier went for his 6 month check-up today. Drum roll please....he now weighs 19 lb 5 oz and is 27 in long. The doctor says he is perfect and kept calling him "The Golden Boy." She had all the nurses come in and look at him and told them he has the perfect golden skin tone, golden hair, and beautiful green-blue eyes. She was amazed at how good he is doing now compared to how sick he was the first time she saw him.
3/22/07-Xavier can sit up on his own. He loves to smile, especially at his daddy. He eats baby food and is not picky on the flavor! He has tried prunes, green beens, carrots, applesauce and bananas and liked them all! He is experimenting with his voice and pitch of it. He randomly shrieks and is starting to say DaDa--although I don't think he knows the meaning yet.
10/22/07 -We welcomed Xavier to the world weighing 7 lb 4 oz, 21 inches long. He had light brown straight hair and blue eyes.
